Advances in the Application of Vegetable-Oil-Based Cutting Fluids to Sustainable Machining Operations—A Review

Scientists and tribologists are currently exploring sustainable inexhaustible lubricants as a result of increased awareness environmental health-related issues. Vegetable oils being investigated potential form environmentally friendly cutting fluids due to their excellent renewability, biodegradability, lubricating performance. This report provides an overview different vegetable used in the machining engineering materials. The effects virgin oils, emulsified vegetable-based vegetable-oil-based nano-cutting on force, surface finish machined parts, tool wear, temperature area were surveyed critically. Compared mineral-oil-based fluids, studies have demonstrated that meet cleaner manufacturing standards with good or better efficiency.
